Antiqua Futura partners with Museo Archeologico Gaio Clinio Mecenate

The Togato di Arezzo is a masterfully carved Roman marble statue from the 1st century AD, discovered alongside numerous architectural fragments. While the statue is currently on display, many associated pieces (such as fluted columns and decorative metopes) have remained in museum storage since their excavation in 1994. These artifacts originally formed a grand, temple-shaped funerary monument located along the ancient Via Cassia.

The current project aims to recontextualize the statue by studying these stored fragments to reconstruct its original setting. By integrating the physical remains with digital or physical modeling, the initiative seeks to recreate the funerary temple, moving the Togato from a standalone exhibit to its rightful place within its historical architectural environment.
