ÆTERNA is born: the ADSI sections of Lazio and Tuscany join forces to build a new model for the promotion of Historic Houses through the language of art and the active role of new generations.
On July 3rd, 2026, ÆTERNA officially begins: a new cultural project born from the twinning of Castello di Fumone (Lazio) and Castello di San Fabiano (Tuscany), both part of the Italian Historic Houses Association (ADSI ETS). Its goal is to connect historic houses into one large, permanent widespread museum that brings heritage, contemporary art and young talent into dialogue. The exhibition will be on view until October 30th, 2026.
ÆTERNA stems from the belief that protecting heritage cannot be limited to preserving the past, but must become an engine of cultural production, creating new opportunities for artists, writers, musicians and creatives, and opening a dialogue between privately held cultural heritage and contemporary art.
Literature, painting, sculpture, music, theatre and opera will take centre stage in a multidisciplinary programme that turns castles, villas and palaces into living places, open to artistic research, cultural exchange and the participation of new generations.
The project is promoted by Giulio de Paolis, owner of Castello di Fumone and founder of its museum hub, together with the Antiqua Futura APS association (www.antiquafutura.it), curator Irina Machneva Mota and the Fiorentini family, owners of Castello di San Fabiano, under the patronage of the Historic Houses Associations (ADSI) of Lazio and Tuscany.
Young people are at the heart of the project. Historic houses open their spaces to new generations of artists and authors, offering a prestigious setting in which to exhibit, experiment and engage with the public, sparking an authentic dialogue with history.
The aim is to create a cultural network that unites different regions through beauty, fostering collaboration between institutions, owners of historic houses, curators, artists and cultural professionals, in a journey set to grow and progressively involve new Italian realities.
The opening on July 3rd, 2026 at Castello di San Fabiano marks the beginning of a project that aims to make the cultural heritage of Italy's historic houses a protagonist of the present and near future of Italian culture.
